Dimitris Alimisis 

Scientific Leader and co-founder

Dr.Dimitris Alimisis is the scientific leader of EDUMOTIVA, former Professor at the Education Department of Higher School of Pedagogical & Technological Education (Patras, Greece) and external collaborator at the Hellenic Open University in the field of Education. He holds a B.Sc. from Dept. of Physics, Univ. of Athens, and PhD in Education from Dept. of Philosophy–Pedagogy–Psychology, Univ. of Athens. His teaching experience includes, among others, teacher education & training, training of trainers in the field of adult education, training of professionals and more. His research focuses on digital tools for creative learning (modeling, simulations, microworlds, concept mapping, robotics), synchronous and asynchronous distance learning. His scientific publications have appeared in international conference proceedings, books and journals.

Rene Alimisi

Managing partner and learning technologist

Rene has a rich engineering background and thorough knowledge of the field of Information Communication Technology in Education with more than 6 years of experience within the area of EU funded Projects. She has collaborated with well-known Greek research centers (CERTH, IRETETH) and higher education departments (University of Thessaly, Greece) in the context of EU funded projects in the past. Rene is also a certified ICT trainer for Adults from the National Organisation for the Certification of Qualifications & Vocational Guidance (EOPPEP) and has PGCE; since 2010 she works closely with adults of all ages and various cultural and professional backgrounds in numerous Greek public centers for Lifelong learning (IDEKE, INEDIVIM) and private companies. She has also carried out research studies in primary and secondary schools in Greece and UK aiming at exploring how ICT interventions can support students in developing computational thinking skills in a creative and playful way. Rene holds a degree in Computer Engineering (from the Univ. of Thessaly, GR) and a MA in ICT in Education (from the Institute of Education, UCL, London). She has been also trained in 3D modelling, rendering and printing through courses offered by the International University of Thessaloniki (Greece).

Manolis Zoulias

Task manager & engineer

Manolis gained his first degree from National Technical University of Athens, Department of Electrical and Computer Engineers in 1996. He gained his Msc in 1997 from University of Dundee, UK in the field of Biomedical Instrumentation Engineering. In 2012 he gained his PhD in the field of Data Mining. His main experiences and interests are on fields of ICT and electronics applied on education and biomedical applications. He had been employee of Health System of Greece as Computer Engineer for 4 years. From 2008 up to now he works for the National Centre of Public Governance and Local Administration as Computer Engineer.

Fania Pallikarakis

EU project support

Fania Pallikarakis has an academic background in Communication and Mass Media and a Master’s Degree in Organisational Psychology. After having worked for a long time in the fields of Cultural Management and Events Organisation on a European level, including European Institutions and Universities in Greece, today she is an active and competent professional in the field of Coaching. Her expertise is in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, a ground-breaking approach. She was trained by one of the developers of the field and today she is an Accredited Certified Coach by the International Coach Federation. She speaks English, French, Spanish and Greek.

Vasiliki Pagoni

EU project support

She graduated in Nutrition and Dietetics from ATEI Thessaloniki, Greece and then went on to complete her postgraduate studies in Human Nutrition at the University of Sheffield, England. She had her own Nutrition and Dietetic Practice for seven years where she undertook the dietary treatment of adults, adolescents and children suffering from obesity, clinical cases, women pregnant or nursing, as well as athletes. In recent years she has been working as a certified educator, active in the field of adult and childhood nutrition education. She has worked with local governments and schools to inform and educate students, teachers and parents about healthy eating. She is currently teaching food and nutrition related subjects at a Vocational Training Institute and is a founding member and key partner in “The Nutrition Game”, a healthy eating initiative for preschoolers aged 4-6. Vasiliki recently collaborates with Edumotiva in the design of educational activities that fall into the area of her expertise with the aim of raising school community’s  awareness on the adoption of a healthy life style.
