Call for teachers & students

At InnovAthens/Technopolis City of Athens, July 13-18, 2020

http://edumotiva.eu/edumotiva/summerschool/

Organiser: EDUMOTIVA (Greece) with support from the European project INBOTS CSA (2018-20) and the University of Siena (INBOTS/WP3 leader).

Theme“make your own robots”. The school supports the transition from pre-programmed, prefabricated solutions and silo products, which are conceived by learners as “black boxes”, to a “white box” paradigm where learners change role from consumers of technology to designers and makers of transparent robotic artefacts. This educational paradigm shift will provide insight into how hands-on learning experiences with robotics develop the 21st century skills for children .

Teachers’ school will include training in the creative use of robotics technologies intended for pre-school & primary education. Then, teachers will work on projects that will result in several robotic artefacts and will exemplify the paradigm“make your own robots”. No previous experience is required, novices in robotics are welcome.

Students’ school will include projects that will introduce smoothly learners into age-appropriate technologies. Then, students will work in small teams to create several robotic artefacts. No previous experience is required, novices in robotics are welcome.

We welcome teachers/educators of primary or secondary education from EU countries to attend the 1st INBOTS summer school in educational robotics in Athens, July 13-18, 2020.

The teachers are encouraged to invite & accompany a small group of their students (age 13-17) who will attend at the same time and place the robotics school for students. Teachers can register their students in the next steps while registering themselves.
