Summer school

Summer school

Due to current pandemic, though situation in Athens is well under control, it seems that flights and other mobilities are uncertain this summer, so  we regret to say that our summer school is postponed for the summer 2022. Stay tuned for the next call …

We invite teachers/educators across Europe that are active in primary/secondary education to participate in the 1st INBOTS summer school.

Theme: “make your own robots”. The summer school supports the transition from pre-programmed, pre-fabricated solutions and silo products, which are conceived by learners as “black boxes”, to a “white box” paradigm where learners change role from consumers of technology to designers and makers of transparent robotic artefacts. This educational paradigm shift can provide insight into how hands-on learning experiences with robotics can support the development of the 21st century skills.

The summer school for teachers will encourage & support work on several projects that will result in robotic artefact constructions. No previous experience is required, novices in robotics are welcome.

The summer school for students will introduce them playfully in robotic artefact creations through age-appropriate tools and hands-on technologies. Novices are welcome.

The teachers that are interested in participating, can optionally invite and accompany a small group of their students (13-17 years old).

Where: Innovathens/Technopolis City of Athens (Greece)
When: July 13-18, 2020 to be announced
Organiser: EDUMOTIVA (Greece) with the support of the University of Siena (INBOTS partner). The summer school is organised in the context of the European project INBOTS CSA H2020 (2018-20). School Chair: Prof. Dr. Dimitris Alimisis Language : English
