Roboscientists project celebrates EURobotics week 2020

The Roboscientists event revolves around a series of 3 webinars . Due to covid-19 the event will be held online. The 3 webinars will guide the participating teachers in the construction of the DIY automobile robotic artefact with Arduino technology and Mblock, a block-based programming environment.

Topics per session:
Session 1: Crafting & wiring
Session 2: Programming movement
Session 3: Avoiding obstacles

The webinars start on November 9th at 18:20 Greek time (17:20 CET time) and last 1 hour each.

The webinars are organised as part of the Erasmus+ Project Roboscientists 2018-1-PL01-KA201-051129.

What is the future of educational robots? What is the vision of the industry? Interviewing Costas Sisamos (ENGINO)

In the framework of the INBOTS project, EDUMOTIVA team (Sophia Almpani) interviewed Costas Sisamos, founder of Engino.net Ltd, and asked him to share with us his vision on education, robotics, STEM and the future of Engino.

Engino products include multi-award-winning educational robots for children and adults, made from plastic rods and connectors that can create simple and complex designs using a small number of pieces and equipment. Costas Sisamos, who in 2004 was the coordinator of the Design and Technology Program in Cyprus, noted that his pupils found it difficult when they had to build models and realized that he had to find an easier and faster way for this process. That is where the idea for plastic connectors came from. Today, 16 years later, the social, economic, and industrial benefits offered by the company are significant not only for Cyprus but also internationally, since Engino products are exported to more than 50 countries. The products are an excellent educational tool that helps children to develop creativity and design thinking skills, inspiring the inventors of the future.
