Prof. Dr. Dimitris Alimisis 

Scientific Leader

Dimitris is the founder and scientific leader of EDUMOTIVA, former Professor at the Education Department of Higher School of Pedagogical & Technological Education (Patras, Greece) and former external collaborator at the Hellenic Open University and University of Athens. He has served as external evaluator in  Ph. D. supervising and examination boards at  several EU universities. His research interests focus on educational technology,  teacher education & training with a focus on Constructivist  and Constructionist learning, maker movement in education, educational robotics. He has served as WP leader or education partner in several EU-funded projects (Horizon, ERASMUS+). He has worked for the introduction of the maker movement in education at EU level starting in 2017 with the Horizon 2020 Project eCraft2Learn (Digital Fabrication and Maker Movement in Education). He has been scientific leader in workshops for teachers and students on topics such as: making robotic artefacts, 3D modelling & printing tasks, creative coding, DIY electronics and more. In 2019-20, as partner in the EU-funded H2020 project INBOTS, he introduced a paradigm shift in robotics education inspired from the maker movement and led the development and piloting of innovative  curricula for teaching with robotics in preschool, primary and secondary education. He is co-organiser of the EDUROBOTICS conference (2014-today). His research and educational works have been  published in international  scientific conference proceedings, books and journals. Rene Alimisi

Managing partner and learning technologist

Rene is an enthusiastic engineer specialized in Information Communication Technology in Education (MA in ICT in Education with distinction from the Institute of Education, UCL, University of London and MEng in Computer and Telecommunications Engineering from University of Thessaly). She has more than 9 years of working experience in European Projects in the field of learning technologies and STEAM education. She is a certified ICT trainer for Adults from the National Organisation for the Certification of Qualifications & Vocational Guidance (EOPPEP), PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) holder and PRINCE 2 certified. She has been teaching/training adults and professionals at education centers and institutions for the past 8 years. Rene has also designed several learning interventions and carried out pilot studies and workshops with students from 10 to 17+ years old in the area of Robotics and STE’A’M education in formal and informal educational settings in Greece and UK. Last, she embraces the Maker Movement trend in Education and contributes to the establishment and organization of Maker Spaces in the Technopolis City of Athens and schools in disadvantaged areas in Athens.


Dr. Emmanouil Zoulias

EU project support

Emmanouil acts as Task manager & EU project support in Edumotiva. He holds a B.Sc. in Electrical and Computer Engineering and PhD in Data Mining (National Technical Univ. of Athens – NTUA) from Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering (NTUA) and Medical School (Patras University). His main active research focuses on validation process, data mining, web mining technologies and web 2 technologies. He is a developer, administrator and integrator of various web2-based platforms for public educational training developed with various technologies like PHP, JSP, ASP, HTML5, XHTML, JavaScript, Joomla, and WordPress. His teaching experience includes, among others, educational technology courses in the field of web development, ICT skills for the National School of Public Administration and Local Governance for public sector employees. Dr. Zoulias  is also a Scientific Partner at TEI of Athens teaching subjects of Health Informatics and Biostatistics. He has been involved in various European projects in the field of health, e-health, educational technologies, tele – medicine and tele – education in collaboration to various research organizations.


Chrissa Papasarantou

EU project support and trainer 

Chrissa is an architect, a holder of a master’s degree in MSc Advanced Architectural Studies and she is currently a PhD candidate at the Department of Architecture (University of Thessaly). Her research interests focus on finding alternative ways on approaching, analyzing and designing mixed environments through bodily parameters and through the notion of presence. She has participated in architectural competitions, and international conferences, as well as in the research program “DeMuCiV, Designing the Museum of the City of Volos” (2011-1015) with the research group of LECAD. She is involved in STEAM-related activities for school groups.


Dr. Theodosios Sapounidis

EU project support / researcher (in INBOTS H2020)

Theodosios received his first degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece, and a second BSc degree in Electronic Engineering at the Technological Institute of Thessaloniki. He holds a MSc degree in Information Systems and a PhD degree in design and development of tangible user interface for introductory programming activities from the Department of Informatics of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.  He has published research papers in scientific journals and conference proceedings and has been awarded six times for his innovative work on tangible programming.


Dr. Konstantinos Salpasaranis 

EU project support (in Roboscientists Erasmus+ project)

Konstantinos has a degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Patras and PhD from the same department. He has published articles and participated in international conferences participation in the area of Evolutionary Algorithms, Genetic Programming and Forecasting.  He is an experienced professional in the fields of ICT and Computer Science as well as in the research and development for educational robotics/electronic kits with conferences participation and workshops trainings. Since 2003 he combines technology and pedagogy and works as an ICT teacher. He also plans, organizes and implements STEM programs in informal educational institutions.


Dr Sofia Almpani 

EU project support (in H2020 INBOTS project)

Sofia received her first Bachelor Degree from the Faculty of Education School of Primary Education (AUTH) in 2009, the second one from the Department of Mathematics (UOA) in 2014, the Master Degree “Educational Leadership, Management and Emerging Technologies” from University Marconi in 2015, and currently she is a PhD Student at the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering at National Technical University of Athens (NTUA) since 2017. Moreover, she has diploma as a dancer and as a dance teacher in Modern Theater Dance from the Imperial Society of Teacher of Dance (ISTD).

Dr. Ioannis Berdousis

EU project support (in ASSESSMAKE21 project)

Ioannis holds a PhD in Computer Science Education, a M.A. degree in Educational Sciences and a M.Sc. degree in Computer Science as well as a B.Sc. degree in Computer Science & Technology and a B.Sc. degree in Primary Education. He has worked as a computer science teacher in public schools and as ICT trainer in adult education programs. His research interests concern the teaching of computer science, especially gender issues, the integration of ICT in education, the conception and the development of educational software based on the use of social and constructivist learning theories. He has published 18 scientific papers in international and national conferences and journals.
